There is Benny, whose devastating injury led to surgery at Jacksonville Humane Society and a life lived at full speed on three legs.

Teddy arrived in foster care as a kitten and later became the cat who helped generations of foster kittens learn how to play, cuddle and trust.

Pacer became a beloved shop dog and a familiar face in his community. Chance carried an enormous capacity for joy into the life that came after his difficult beginning.

And those are only a few.

Each portrait in the exhibition is paired with a piece of that animal's story, inviting visitors to look beyond the photograph and discover the life behind it.
