We’ve split this section into two parts so you can find exactly what you’re looking for (whether you're a fellow photographer, a curious client, or just impressed by acronyms):
The alphabet soup behind our names.
These are the official titles and earned credentials—professional degrees, designations from national photography associations, and proof we’ve put in the hours, the critiques, and the coursework.
Awards that aren’t about print competitions, but still make us proud.
Here’s where you’ll find service awards, business recognitions, community impact honors, and those lovely “you’ve made a difference” moments that don’t require judges in dark rooms.
The Master Artist (M.Artist) degree is awarded by PPA to photographers for their superior artistic skills in digital and traditional art, advanced education, and service to the industry.
The Master of Photography (M.Photog.) degree is awarded to photographers for their superior photographic skills demonstrated through the Photographic Open category of PPA’s International Photographic Competition, advanced education, and service to the industry.
The Photographic Craftsman degree is awarded to photographers for their service as a speaker, author or mentor. This degree shows that you have gone beyond the creation of images and dedicated your time to move the industry forward and encourage education.
Every industry has its benchmark. The Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) designation is the professional benchmark for the Professional Photographers of America (PPA). No matter the photographer's specialty, the CPP is a fundamental step in mastering their craft. The CPP requires the passage of both a written exam and an image submission.
International Pet Photography Awards.
The International Associate of Pet Photography (IPPA) is the first official degree in the global accreditation program. It’s awarded to photographers who have earned at least 1,500 points from award-winning client portraits, proving consistency and excellence across sessions. Achieving Associate status means joining a select group of pet photographers recognized on an international stage.
