As January settles in, we start hearing a familiar question:
“When will the Flower Fields sessions open?”
This will be only our second year offering Flower Fields sessions—and already, they’ve become one of the most anticipated experiences we offer.
These sessions don’t exist because we decided to add something new to the calendar. They exist because we’re granted limited access to photograph during a very specific moment in the season.
Our Flower Fields sessions take place at Parker Flower Farms, a working flower farm where photography is carefully managed and intentionally limited. We don’t own the fields—we’re invited guests, working within a space that values the land, the blooms, and the timing just as much as we do.
That access is what makes these sessions rare.
Flower Fields sessions don’t live neatly on a calendar. They exist in a narrow window where bloom cycles, weather, light, and availability all align.
Some seasons bring soft pastels and airy textures.
Others deliver bold color and dramatic skies.
What never changes is how fleeting it all is.
We don’t create the bloom.
We wait for it—and we plan carefully around the opportunity to be there.
Parker Flower Farms is exceptionally on-leash pet friendly, allowing us to photograph dogs safely and responsibly within the fields. Leashes are discreetly removed in post, preserving the natural, painterly look of the final artwork while keeping every dog protected.
The farm’s beautifully designed pathways wind through the flowers, giving us the ability to:
Create the illusion that dogs are immersed in blooms
Work from designated walkways
Capture glowing, backlit images without disturbing the fields
This balance—access without impact—is a big part of what makes the experience feel so special.
We photograph Flower Fields sessions only at sunrise or sunset, when the farm is at its quietest and the light is at its most cinematic.
Sunrise sessions are serene and private—often with no one else in the fields.
Sunset sessions bring warmth, depth, and luminous skies that transform the landscape.
Both are breathtaking. The difference comes down to mood—and your dog.
We’re often asked if we can add more Flower Fields sessions once the blooms peak.
We don’t.
Limiting sessions protects:
The land
The quality of light
The access we’re granted
The calm, unhurried experience each dog deserves
More sessions would mean compromise—and this is one place we refuse to make them.
Even in just its second year, Flower Fields has become one of those sessions people plan ahead for—sometimes traveling hours for the chance to be part of it.
The timing.
The access.
The fact that it can’t be recreated on demand.
Our January issue of Every Dog Has a Tale marks the beginning of that anticipation. As the fields begin to wake, we’ll share more—slowly, intentionally, and always guided by the season.
Some sessions are local.
This one is an experience. 🌸
Dogs travel from all over Florida for Flower Fields sessions. We’re happy to help with dog-friendly hotel recommendations and ideas for turning your visit into a weekend experience.
Many clients also pair this session with time in historic St. Augustine—or an additional portrait session.
If Flower Fields has been on your mind—or if you’re simply curious about whether this experience is right for your dog—we’re always happy to talk it through. No pressure, no rushing. Some sessions are meant to be considered slowly.
