Meet Sierra, one of the Magnificent Six Cavaliers surrendered by a breeder and now safe with Cavalier Rescue of Florida. Named for the Sierra Nevada mountain range, this little beauty has proven just as resilient and full of quiet strength as her namesake.

We photographed Sierra in Riverview, and within seconds she had us wrapped around her paw. She didn’t need any time to warm up — she walked right over, tail wagging, and leaned in for cuddles as if we were old friends.

Her fur is impossibly soft, her manners lovely, and her affection endless. Sierra is that rare kind of dog who instantly makes you feel calmer just by being near her.

She’s a sweetheart through and through — kind to everyone she meets, including other dogs and gentle children. She’s working on leash manners (treats are highly motivational), enjoys her walks, and has nearly perfected her house training.

Her foster describes her as “an easy, loving companion who simply wants to be close to her people — preferably on the bed.”
