Meet Everest — one of the Magnificent Six breeder surrender Cavaliers now safe in the care of Cavalier Rescue of Florida. At just a year old, this boy is climbing his own mountain — from fear to trust, from uncertainty to love. And oh, is he making strides.

We photographed Everest in Temple Terrace on a warm Florida afternoon. From the moment we met him, we knew he had that special spark — the kind that shows up quietly, then wins you over completely.

Gentle and observant, Everest took in every sound, every leaf, every lizard (especially the lizards). He’s cautious when meeting new people, but once he decides you’re safe (which only takes a few seconds), those big brown eyes soften into pure affection.

He’s learning the art of walks, discovering that harnesses aren’t so scary, and showing his playful side with toys, socks, and the occasional shoe he “borrows.”

“Everest is sweetness wrapped in curiosity,” his foster shared. “He’s still learning what it means to be loved — but he’s already mastered melting hearts.”
