Some dogs simply have a way of stealing the show.
At our You Had Me at Woof Valentine portrait event in Naples, we had the pleasure of meeting quite a few of them.
Hosted with our wonderful partners at Paws Pet Boutique, the day brought together some truly charming pups and their humans for a portrait experience filled with wagging tails, proud dog parents, and plenty of laughter behind the camera.
From confident little camera veterans to dogs who needed just a moment of encouragement before offering their best pose, every sweetheart who stepped in front of our lens brought their own personality to the day.
But the best part of the event goes far beyond the portraits.
Together, this amazing group of dog lovers helped raise $2,000 for Mandy’s Mission to Mend Hearts at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. That contribution will help support dogs who need life-saving cardiac care — giving families hope when their beloved companions need it most.
This cause is especially meaningful to us personally. Over the years, we have lost three of our own beloved Havanese to heart disease, including our sweet boy Choco Taco. If you attended the event, you may have met him — he was there with us for the day, happily greeting guests and supervising the portraits like only a seasoned show dog can.
Having him by our side while raising funds for dogs facing similar heart challenges made the day feel even more special.
Events like this are exactly why we created SIT STAY LOVE — the charitable arm of The PAWtographers®. While our work normally centers around creating heirloom artwork for dog families, these special portrait events allow photography to do something even bigger: bring the dog community together to support causes that truly matter.
We are also deeply grateful to Paws Pet Boutique for welcoming us so warmly into their beautiful Naples shop and helping make the event possible. Their continued support of local dog lovers and meaningful causes made this event feel right at home in Naples.
Most of all, thank you to every dog and every human who joined us. Seeing so many beloved companions step proudly in front of the camera — each with their own quirks, expressions, and undeniable charm — was an absolute joy.
Because of you, this Valentine’s event didn’t just create sweet portraits.
It helped mend hearts.
