JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA — 

In December 2023, Joan H. Walker of The PAWtographers in Jacksonville earned the distinction of having two photographs accepted as finalist images in the Professional Photographers of America’s 2024 International Photographic Competition. Walker’s images, “True Grit” (Pet Portrait) and “Street Tea” (Reportage), are among the 32 finalists in their respective categories. These images will advance to the final rounds of judging at Imaging USA in Louisville, KY, taking place from January 28-30, 2024.

Imaging USA is one of the largest annual conventions and expos for professional photographers, drawing over 10,000 attendees each year. It is a platform where the best in the industry come together to showcase their work, network, and continue their professional development.

A total of 497 finalist images across 16 categories will be judged in live head-to-head rounds by a panel of esteemed jurors from across the United States. The competition is fierce, with each round eliminating half of the entries, ultimately crowning a category winner. The overall winner will receive the Grand Imaging Award and a $10,000 prize. Walker’s finalist images will also be featured in the International Photographic Exhibition, where they will be displayed alongside other top works from the competition.
