Jacksonville’s Most Enchanted Holiday Walk

There’s something magical about stepping into the Jacksonville Arboretum & Botanical Gardens at night — especially when thousands of twinkling lights, glowing sculptures, and joyful families transform the trails into a full holiday wonderland.

We were invited to photograph Media Night for Glowing Gardens 2025, and let us tell you: this year’s experience is absolutely breathtaking. If you’re looking for a holiday outing that feels whimsical, immersive, and full of heart, this needs to be on your family’s December must-do list.

🌲 What Makes Glowing Gardens So Special?

Glowing Gardens isn’t just a light show — it’s a celebration of community, nature, and the season. Every piece of magic you see throughout the gardens is created in-house by the Arboretum’s own team, making it uniquely Jacksonville and full of local love.

This year’s enhancements take everything up a notch:

🌫️ A Laser + Fog Experience

Walk through an ethereal lightscape where lasers dance through mist, turning the wooded paths into a glowing, dreamlike tunnel.

🔥 The New S’mores Station

Crackling fire pits. Toasty marshmallows. Sticky fingers. Happy kids. Need we say more?

⛄ The Snow & Glow Zone

This expanded play area is pure joy:

  • A giant inflatable igloo

  • Build-your-own snowmen

  • Safe, silly snowball play

  • Light-up swings and see-saws

  • Santa visits on select nights

Kids (and kids at heart) were absolutely delighted — it’s impossible not to smile here.

✨ Returning Favorites

The classics are back and brighter than ever:

  • Dazzling illuminated trees

  • Curated light sculptures

  • A sparkling “light river” winding through the gardens

  • Holiday characters for photos

  • Cozy spots to sip hot drinks and take it all in

It’s a relaxing, beautiful stroll for families, couples, and anyone who loves to soak up holiday cheer.

We highly recommend grabbing a warm drink before exploring the Laser Forest — trust us.

Glowing Gardens runs November 28–December 28, 2025 with pricing options for both members and non-members.

Children 3 and under are free!
