What happens when a community of dog lovers shows up? At Tails & Trails 2026, a morning of portraits at the Jacksonville Arboretum turned into our biggest Tails & Trails fundraiser yet.
There are mornings that remind us exactly why we do this.
On September 26, the Jacksonville Arboretum & Botanical Gardens welcomed dogs and their people back for Tails & Trails 2026—a morning filled with trails, local vendors, community partners and, of course, plenty of dogs.
The PAWtographers was proud to once again sponsor Tails & Trails and join the many businesses and organizations that helped make the event possible. For our part of the day, we set up our cameras for something that has become a Tails & Trails tradition: pet portraits that give back.
The idea was simple: stop by with your dog, make a $20 donation to benefit Coastal Pug Rescue, and step in front of our cameras for a commemorative Tails & Trails portrait.
And you showed up.
Big dogs. Little dogs. Pugs, doodles, shepherds, retrievers, terriers and wonderfully unidentifiable mixes. Dogs who knew exactly how handsome they were. Dogs who weren’t entirely convinced about the whole photography thing. And plenty who were primarily interested in whether we had treats.

By the end of the morning, we had photographed around 70 dogs.
But the number that matters most?
Together, we raised $1,300 for Coastal Pug Rescue—a new Tails & Trails fundraising record.
One of the things we love most about Tails & Trails is how simple it is.
You bring us your dog. We make a portrait. And something good happens because of it.
Those individual donations added up—one dog at a time—to help Coastal Pug Rescue continue its work for dogs who need another chance.
That’s what makes these photographs particularly special to us. They’re wonderful portraits of much-loved dogs, but together they’re also a record of what happened when a community of dog lovers came together to do something good.

Giving back has long been part of who we are at The PAWtographers.
Over the years, we’ve photographed adoptable animals, donated portrait experiences, partnered with rescue organizations and created fundraising events throughout Florida.
We created SIT STAY LOVE – Photography That Gives Back™, our Florida nonprofit, to take that commitment even further and create more opportunities to use photography in support of animals and the organizations that serve them.
Tails & Trails is exactly what we want that work to look like: joyful, uncomplicated and centered around a community that loves dogs as much as we do. And this year, that community absolutely blew us away.
We could tell you all day how much fun this morning was. But these faces tell the story better than we ever could.
Every dog photographed that morning was part of something bigger—a community coming together to support Coastal Pug Rescue, one portrait at a time.

Every one of these faces was part of something pretty special.
To everyone who brought a dog, made a donation or stopped by to see us—thank you. You helped make this our most successful Tails & Trails portrait fundraiser yet.
A special thank you to the Jacksonville Arboretum & Botanical Gardens for creating and hosting Tails & Trails and bringing together local businesses, organizations, dog lovers and their four-legged companions for this wonderful community event.
And to our friends at Coastal Pug Rescue, thank you for the work you do for dogs who need you. We’re incredibly proud that this community came together to raise $1,300 to support your work.
