When Glenn and Christine Baker volunteered for Jacksonville Humane Society's Silent Night program, they expected to host a shelter dog for just one night.
Roxy, known then as Wish, had a different idea.
She arrived as a guest, settled right in, and by the end of her sleepover, it was clear she had already become part of the family. What began as one quiet night away from the shelter became the beginning of her forever home.
Since then, Roxy has lived with a heart full of love. She believes every person she meets has arrived for one reason: to love her. Whether she's offering a wet kiss, a gentle nudge, or happily climbing into someone's lap, Roxy never misses an opportunity to make a new friend.
Some overnight guests leave the next morning.
The very best ones become family.
